Klayton Adams has been named the offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys, marking his first coordinator position after years of assistant coaching. Hired to revamp the team’s offense, which previously excelled in scoring, Adams aims to integrate a versatile run game with Brian Schottenheimer’s West Coast passing strategy. Adams acknowledges the importance of aligning with Schottenheimer's vision, emphasizing a collaborative process. He looks forward to building strong relationships with players, including key offensive personnel like Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, to foster a productive and dynamic offensive unit for the upcoming season.
The opportunity to be a coordinator and sit in that chair was a goal and something that I wanted to do at some point, being able to do it with the Dallas Cowboys is an even bigger opportunity.
I think it would be dumb on my part to force things on that call sheet that he doesn't want to call... It's going to be a growing process.
How we make it look multiple? How do we make it look different? That's the part that I'm really looking forward to focusing on.
I want to have good relationships with all of these guys, I want to have genuine relationships so that they know I'm here to help them play the best football.
