The Cowboys have held joint practices during the preseason in four of the last five years. In 2025 they practiced with the Rams in Oxnard before the preseason opener. In 2024 they practiced with the Rams in Oxnard before the opener and held another joint practice with the Rams a week later. In 2022 they held joint practices with the Broncos in Denver before the opener and added a joint practice with the Chargers in Costa Mesa before the second preseason game. In 2021 they held a joint practice with the Rams in Oxnard shortly after the HoF Game against the Steelers. Joint practices often occur in the week before the teams meet. The Seahawks are the Cowboys’ preseason opener opponent, and rumors in Seattle indicate a joint practice may be planned in Seattle before Aug. 15.
"From what I understand and the conversations I'm having, they are really, really attempting to make that work,"
"And that would be so awesome for the fans, the experience. I've gotten to see that in the Denver market. The Broncos have been able to do (joint practices) and get opponents to come in. It's really cool."
"And in many ways, the intensity of those couple practices are better than the preseason game, because they're getting after it, because it's ones on ones. That red zone and that high red zone last year in (Green Bay), that was the first coming-out party of ... JSN and Sam Darnold. That was kind of the first little appetizer and vision of what could be and what was to come."
