Jesús Ferreira, Jalen Neal, and John Tolkin left training camp for different reasons; Ferreira focuses on fitness, Neal has a minor injury, and Tolkin handles personal matters.

"I have a few more official events ahead of me, but then I will slowly go to the first December preparations with the team in warmer places, where we will start serious training," he said.

While he has some level of input on Golden State's personnel decisions, trades and signings are the job of general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. and the rest of his front office.

"There's a lot of factors that go into coaching. You just can't say, I'm going to be a coach, and then everything works out. Certain personalities have to mesh, and there's a lot of sacrifice. I'm learning a lot, from morning meetings to hours spent watching film."
