Left-right-alternating theta sweeps in entorhinal-hippocampal maps of space - Nature
Briefly

This study involved the implantation of Neuropixels silicon probes in 19 Long Evans rats to examine neural activity in the MEC-parasubiculum and hippocampal regions. The ethical approval for the experiments was obtained from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, adhering to animal welfare laws. The rats were housed in enriched environments post-surgery, with varying probe types used to collect data. Specific surgical techniques were employed for probe placement to ensure accurate targeting of the brain regions of interest, offering valuable insights into neural dynamics.
In our study, we implanted Neuropixels silicon probes in Long Evans rats to explore neural activity in the MEC-parasubiculum and hippocampus regions.
The experiments were conducted under strict ethical guidelines and received approval from the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, ensuring compliance with animal welfare regulations.
