The Expo 2020 Dubai site is set for a significant transformation into a sustainable urban center developed by UNStudio and partners. This master plan preserves 80% of existing Expo structures while establishing five distinct districts—Expo Downtown, Expo Fields, Expo Hills, Expo Business, and Expo Valley. The layout shifts from organic to a grid system for better navigation and includes extensive green spaces and native trees, emphasizing the themes of Sustainability, Mobility, and Opportunity. The development aims to house over 35,000 residents and enhance urban connectivity and public engagement in alignment with Dubai's 2040 Urban Master Plan.
The development will repurpose about 80% of Expo 2020’s existing infrastructure, ensuring minimal waste and maximizing investments in creating a sustainable urban center.
