Is This the Most Beautiful Dining Room in Boston?
"We knew that journey mattered. We wanted the payoff to be big."
"We approach these projects like a movie set,"
"For this room, I was thinking about female-forward fantasy-a place I would want to be in with friends, where there's this great sense of experience."
"The bar had to be something spectacular," Michael says. "It's really the heart of the room."
Prima Italian Steakhouse's Park Room in Charlestown occupies a former tucked-away corridor converted into an overgrown garden atrium. Designers Erica and Michael Diskin of Assembly Design Studio treated the journey through the space as essential, creating a payoff of lush, transportive charm. Green latticework walls with inset floral panels, intricate millwork, and mostly handtied blooms envelop guests. Vintage chandeliers and oversized fringed pendants illuminate marble-topped tables and custom velvet-upholstered chairs. Reclaimed wood warms the ceiling. A tufted, mirrored, softly glowing private bar anchors the room and offers elevated views of City Square Park. The design references vintage Italian mansions, old Hollywood, and London maximalism.
