The Climbing Amphitheater transforms agricultural ladders into the structural framework of a mobile, circular community gathering space embedded in pear orchards. Villagers collectively assemble and dismantle the timber framework, turning construction into a communal practice that strengthens social ties. The structure uses pear wood treated for durability, combining wooden bases, triangular supports, ladders, steel-wood joints, tension straps, and mortise-and-tenon joinery with modern adhesives for stability. During harvest the amphitheater blends with the orchard; outside harvest it serves as a venue for gatherings, performances, and celebrations. Nighttime lighting and sound convert the space into a stage linking routine agricultural life with cultural expression.
