A recent probe by the Competition & Markets Authority (CMA) revealed that parents could save up to £540 per year by choosing basic baby milk formula over premium brands. The CMA emphasized that lower-priced formulas contain the same essential nutrients and quality as their more expensive counterparts. In response, recommendations were made to implement plain packaging in hospitals and enable the use of loyalty points and vouchers for purchases. Enhanced clarity in labeling and advertising is also advised to alleviate parental confusion regarding nutritional value and pricing.
