A line of storms was moving across the Southeast United States, following a tornado that killed three people. Severe thunderstorms were predicted for the region.
Meteorologist Christopher Rainer noted that tornadoes are unusual in the Southeast during December, remarking, 'We don't get many of these types of outbreaks, at least here in the Southeast.'
Severe thunderstorm and tornado watches were issued for parts of North Carolina and northern Florida, indicating potential severe weather risks in these areas.
Rainer mentioned that the impact on Sunday was likely to be less severe than the previous day's storm damage, as the system had weakened overnight.
