Dutch-based NRG2fly raises funds to build charging network for e-planes
Briefly

NRG2fly, based in the Netherlands, is developing the first nationwide charging network for electric planes and has secured undisclosed funding from angel investors and Horizon Flevoland. Day-to-day management will be led by Jacco Bink and Merlijn van Vliet. NRG2fly aims to replicate the success of the Netherlands in electric car charging within the aviation sector. Founded in 2022, the company is located at Lelystad Airport, focusing on electric aircraft infrastructure development and collaboration with industry partners to promote electric aviation.
"The Netherlands was quite early in investing in a good charging network for electric cars. We've done this as one of the best in the world; we've truly become a leader in this area. We want to do exactly the same with flying."
"Electric flying and charging is literally gaining momentum. The theme of 'electrification' is high on the agenda at more and more airports. With NRG2fly, we help these airports with electrification in the broadest sense."
