AC Transit director decries 'sweetheart deal' for outgoing general manager

Syed stated, 'At a time when we should be earning the public's trust to save our agency from the fiscal cliff, this sweetheart deal is a colossal misjudgment.'

Syed accused her fellow directors of violating the Brown Act, saying they made the decision in a closed session that excluded her, thus compromising transparency.

'The deal allows the General Manager to seek and accept other employment without restriction,' Syed reiterated, highlighting the lack of accountability in the settlement.

Syed revealed that Hursh had threatened litigation over alleged bullying and harassment, stating, 'I was shocked but not surprised... that the General Manager filed a bogus complaint against me.'
