In the wake of a rapidly spreading fire in Eaton, Officer Adrian Woolford and his fellow Pasadena Police Department officers demonstrated extraordinary bravery by entering a smoke-filled home to rescue trapped women. The officers, driven by an unwavering commitment to save lives, faced dangerous conditions, including billowing smoke and flames. Their heroic efforts included awakening vulnerable nursing home patients and ensuring their safety before flames completely engulfed the building. Body-worn camera footage captured the intense urgency of their mission, showcasing their dedication in moments of crisis.
None of us had any questions about what our task was. Our task was to save lives. That was our purpose, and that was the only thing we were thinking about the entire day.
Officers banged on doors and in at least one case broke down a door to find and wake residents and get them to safety.
At Two Palms Care Center, officers rushed in the dark to awaken frightened, fragile patients, put masks on faces and quickly wheel them to safety before flames destroyed the facility.
