Person found at busy downtown Berkeley intersection dies, police investigating
"A 911 caller reported a person down at Shattuck and University avenues shortly before 5 p.m. Friday, Berkeley Fire Department spokesperson Dafina Dailey said in an email Tuesday. BFD personnel took the victim to a trauma center, but the person did not survive."
"In the four days since the incident, authorities have not disclosed much about the incident or the victim, such as the person's age or gender. The Alameda County Sheriff's Office's Coroner's Bureau had not identified the victim as of Monday."
"Police and fire officials have not directly responded to questions from Berkeleyide about the nature of the person's injuries, nor how the person may have come to be at University and Shattuck."
