Christine Henson, the mother of the 12-year-old girl, expressed her disbelief, stating, 'My daughter was treated like a criminal. She was really violated. It doesn't make sense.' She emphasized the lack of clear communication from school officials, stating that no one has yet explained why her daughter was restrained in the first place.
According to the NYPD, the incident escalated when Faith, a sixth-grader, allegedly became 'increasingly agitated' during an altercation on November 19, leading to her being placed in handcuffs.
Henson described the painful moment she saw her daughter handcuffed, saying, 'I asked the school safety officer, 'Why is she in handcuffs? Can you please take those off of her?' She said, 'She's not going anywhere.'
