Riverside Primary School in Barking is seeking to raise £10,000 to construct a multi-use games area (MUGA) for its pupils. So far, they have raised £1,500, thanks to contributions from local builders Bellway London (£500) and the school's PTA (£1,000). The new facility will be developed next to the existing playground and aims to provide dedicated sports space for students, particularly benefiting those without access to other sports facilities, according to social inclusion officer Tracey Hart. The school encourages further donations from local businesses to reach its goal.
The playground we currently have is quite small and we have to use the secondary school MUGA when we have our school sports day. The new MUGA will provide our children with a dedicated area for playing ball games separate to the existing playground.
The new MUGA will provide our children with a dedicated area for playing ball games separate to the existing playground. It will be hugely beneficial for our pupils, especially those who don't have access to any other sports facilities.
