The Columbia Climate School is launching the Climate, Earth, and Society Distinguished Fellows Program in spring 2026, aimed at welcoming renowned experts to enhance the school's mission. Each semester, at least five fellows from diverse fields will engage with faculty and students. Their participation will include high-level discussions, teaching, and mentoring. The program seeks to foster innovation and collaboration around climate science and societal resilience. Applications for the program will be reviewed continuously, with decisions made by the dean in collaboration with faculty advisors.
The Columbia Climate School is proud to announce the launch of the Climate, Earth, and Society Distinguished Fellows Program, a new initiative that will bring renowned experts and changemakers to campus starting spring 2026.
Each semester, the program will welcome at least five fellows to actively engage with Columbia's faculty, researchers and students, bringing real-world experience and actionable insight.
Fellows will participate in a mix of structured and flexible activities, including hosting high-level convenings on pressing climate and societal issues and delivering guest lectures.
Applications and nominations for the Climate, Earth, and Society Distinguished Fellows Program will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with selection decisions made by the dean.
