"If you're dreaming of the traditional Dickensian Christmas in London this year, don't get your hopes up. The capital hasn't had a white Christmas - formally defined as a single flake of snow falling in a given place on December 25 - since 2001, and this year isn't looking any different. In general, it looks like the Christmas/Twixmas period will be a bit soggy and not too cold in the capital."
"Christmas Eve The BBCcurrently predicts that Wednesday December 24 will be fairly wet, with mild temperatures ranging from 5-7C. Accuweather is slightly more optimistic, expecting highs of 8C and much less rain. Depressingly, the sun will set at 3.55pm. Christmas Day Both Accuweather and the BBC expect December 25 to be pretty similar to Christmas Eve: highs of 7C and a light drizzle of rain in the afternoon and evening. Sadly, it doesn't look like there's much chance of any snow. Maybe next year."
London will experience generally mild and wet conditions over the Christmas and Twixmas period, with little prospect of snow. Temperatures are forecast to hover around 5–8°C from December 24 to 26, with drizzle and bursts of rain expected through the period. The BBC and Accuweather provide similar short-term expectations for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, with minor differences in peak temperatures and rainfall intensity. Boxing Day should remain around 7°C with occasional sunny interludes interrupted by rain. Forecast confidence falls from December 27 onwards, and the Met Office advises checking up-to-date forecasts before travelling or planning outdoor events.
