Met Ãireann has issued a severe weather warning for counties Cork, Kerry, and Limerick for thunderstorms and potential flooding. While the rest of Ireland is expected to enjoy warm and sunny weather, the west will be hottest with temperatures reaching 25C. After a brief rain today, skies will clear for cooler night temperatures. The weather is expected to remain sunny and warm for the upcoming week, with slight chances of showers in southern areas.
Met Ãireann has warned that scattered thunderstorms with the chance of frequent lightning and spot flooding could be on the way for counties Cork, Kerry and Limerick throughout this afternoon and into the early evening. This warning came into effect just after 2pm and will remain in place until 8pm.
Temperatures will range from 19C to 25C today, marking the hottest day of the week so far, with the west of the country enjoying the warmest weather.
The sunshine will continue on Friday, which will be another warm and sunny day. Temperatures will be between 18 and 22C across the country, but the east coast might again be a bit cooler.
This spell of fine weather is set to continue right through this week and into next week, with plenty of sunshine and temperatures getting into the twenties in many areas.
