The European Innovation Council (EIC) has allocated funding to 71 companies as part of its October 2024 Accelerator cut-off, highlighting the most competitive selection process since inception in 2021. Out of 1,211 proposals, 431 reached interview stages. Total funding includes €161M in grants and €226M in equity investments, with 79% receiving blended finance. Women occupy leadership roles in 21% of the awarded companies. Additionally, 330 companies received a 'Seal of Excellence' for further funding opportunities, demonstrating the program's broad impact on innovation in Europe.
The EIC reports that this was the most competitive funding round since the Accelerator's launch in 2021 under Horizon Europe.
79 percent will receive blended finance, while 10 companies chose grant-only funding and five opted for equity-only support.
