Delft-based Q*Bird and Eurofiber secure 1M grant to advance quantum-secured communication - Silicon Canals
Briefly

Delft-based Q*Bird, in partnership with Single Quantum and Eurofiber, has received a €1M subsidy for advancing Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) technology. This initiative, announced at the 2025 Mobile World Congress, aims to enhance the security of digital communications through nearly unbreakable encryption, reshaping information technologies. Eurofiber will integrate QKD into its extensive fiber-optic network to bolster security against future cyber threats. The project is part of the QUEST initiative funded by the Kansen voor West program and aims to create permanent QKD connections across key data centers, marking a milestone in secure communications.
This project is an important step in the development of quantum-enabled communications. By making Quantum Key Distribution a permanent feature... we are also creating the basis for future Quantum Internet services.
The QUEST project aims to give businesses and public organisations strong security to protect their data from cyber threats, including those from future quantum computers.
