Lucid Motors, heavily backed by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, is expanding its AMP-2 manufacturing facility in Saudi Arabia, aiming to produce vehicles for markets outside North America, particularly Europe and some Asian regions starting in 2027. With the increased capacity of 150,000 vehicles annually, the company will transition from merely assembling kits sent from the U.S. to manufacturing parts locally. This strategy aligns with Saudi Arabia's efforts to boost local automotive production and might involve implementing import tariffs to promote domestic purchases.
