OnePlus is set to launch its new tablet, the OnePlus Pad 3, in Europe on June 5. However, the name is misleading as it corresponds to the recently released OnePlus Pad 2 Pro in China. The global naming practices highlight a disconnect in understanding the international market. The Pad 3 features impressive specifications: powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a large high-resolution LCD screen, ample RAM and storage options, and a substantial battery life. Its launch comes with promotional offers to entice potential buyers, suggesting a lack of charger included in the package.
'Why not be confusing when you can be confusing?' seems to be the mantra for a lot of Chinese companies when it comes to naming things. Or maybe they don't think the Internet exists - or that it's global.
The naming shenanigans are just ridiculously confusing for anyone who's following global smartphone and tablet news.
That aside, the Pad 3 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and has a 13.2-inch 2400x3392 LCD screen with 144 Hz refresh rate.
...you'll also get an additional â¬50 coupon for the tablet as well as a gift code for the OnePlus SuperVOOC 80W Dual Ports GaN Power Adapter Kit - which makes us think there won't be a charger in the tablet's box.
