Barcelona make Harry Kane first-choice target to replace Robert Lewandowski
"Barcelona have made Harry Kane their first-choice target to replace Robert Lewandowski. The Spanish giants regard the 32-year-old England captain as the ideal younger replacement for 37-year-old Lewandowski, whose contract expires in June, and may well be prepared to trigger the clause in Kane's contract with Bayern Munich that would allow him to leave for 57m in the summer. Kane has proven himself to be a huge success at Bayern since joining them from Tottenham for 100m in August 2023,"
"However, the prospect of joining another of the world's biggest clubs and challenging for further major honours could entice him to Barcelona, who already have an England international in Marcus Rashford on their books. The forward is on loan from Manchester United and there is an option in his contract with Barca that woud allow them to sign him permanently for 30m. Joan Laporta, Barcelona's president, has also ruled out the prospect of Lionel Messi returning to the club."
Barcelona have identified Harry Kane as the preferred successor to Robert Lewandowski, whose contract ends in June. The club could trigger a 57m clause in Kane's Bayern contract to secure the 32-year-old this summer. Kane moved from Tottenham to Bayern for 100m in August 2023 and has scored 108 goals in 113 appearances, becoming the fastest player this century to reach 100 goals for a top-five league club and helping Bayern reclaim the Bundesliga. Kane said he was open to staying at Bayern until 2027, but a move to Barcelona and further honours could attract him. Marcus Rashford is currently on loan at Barcelona with a 30m option to buy, and Joan Laporta has ruled out Lionel Messi returning.
