Desmond Morris, a 97-year-old zoologist, is finally showcasing his surrealist film 'Time Flower,' created in 1950. The film features his late wife Ramona and reflects Morris's love for her and his artistic journey. Inspired by Dali and Bunuel's surrealism, the film, which has remained hidden for 75 years, captures a symbolic pursuit echoing Morris's real-life courtship of Ramona. The film will be screened during the Flatpack film festival at the University of Birmingham, revealing Morris's dual identity as a filmmaker and a zoologist.
In the opening scene of Time Flower, a surrealist film by the zoologist Desmond Morris, a woman is lying facedown on the ground, clutching the grass with manicured hands and shaking her head.
Now 97, Morris has decided to allow the film which stars his late wife Ramona, to be shown for the first time since the 1950s, at the University of Birmingham.
