It was his second wife, Sibylle Szaggars, who convinced the actor to share them with the general public. "We have about a hundred drawings at our home in California," she explained to the Monaco newspaper Monaco Hebdo in 2011."
Robert Redford, born in California in 1938, died on Tuesday, September 16, at the age of 89. He rose to fame with an athletic presence, a dazzling smile, and memorable performances. He grew up in a working-class Santa Monica neighborhood during the Great Depression and later studied fine arts in Europe, splitting time between Paris and Florence. A longtime illustrator, he produced and sold sketches in Paris and showed drawings at the 2011 Arternativelight exhibition in Monaco. His breakthrough came with Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1970). He collaborated with Sydney Pollack, directed Ordinary People (1980), and received an Honorary César in 2019.
