Aimee Ng, a noted art curator at the Frick Collection, has developed a diverse body of work since her full-time position began in 2015. She has contributed significantly to exhibitions that showcase Renaissance art, including "Moroni: The Riches of Renaissance Portraiture" and "Barkley L. Hendricks: Portraits at the Frick." Additionally, she participated in the Frick's engaging online series during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ng reflects on the evolving definition of curating, acknowledging its variability across different contexts and emphasizing her view of curating as a means of care for art and storytelling.
For me, curating is simply taking care of art in the fullest sense, including connecting people with its stories.
Ng more recently appeared in its "Renovation Stories," highlighting the changes that visitors can expect when the Frick reopens on April 17.
Now I know better. Live and let curate.
I did a program that brought me together with curators from all sorts of museums around the country, and we all had entirely different jobs.
