Animal rights stunt sees woman's throat slit' outside London KFC
"A female in a nude-like beige bodysuit had been hung upside down with shackles around her ankles in Brixton Road at 12pm on Wednesday. She had fake wounds to her legs and was smeared with fake blood even before being approached by a male activist holding a prop meat cleaver. He then proceeded to simulate cutting the woman's throat while pretend blood spurted from her neck."
"Justifying the stunt, Elisa Allen, PETA's vice president of programmes, said: Chickens are curious, social, and full of personality, and they don't want to be killed for a fleeting taste of their flesh any more than any human would. PETA is encouraging diners to leave chickens in peace, not pieces, by choosing delicious plant-powered foods instead. The protest was accompanied with placards reading: Chickens: Shackled and bled out. Please, try vegan."
Animal rights activists staged a graphic protest outside a KFC on Brixton Road by hanging a woman from her feet and simulating her throat being cut. The woman wore a nude-like beige bodysuit, had fake wounds to her legs and was smeared with fake blood while a male activist held a prop meat cleaver. Footage showed her emitting simulated screams as pretend blood spurted from her neck. PETA said chickens are curious, social and full of personality and do not want to be killed for a fleeting taste of flesh. PETA encouraged diners to choose plant-powered foods and used placards urging: "Chickens: Shackled and bled out. Please, try vegan." A spokeswoman said the display highlighted that billions of chickens endure terrifying deaths and urged passersby to show kindness to birds by eating vegan.
