Patterson modified the recipe due to sourcing issues and was found guilty of murdering three relatives and attempting to murder a fourth, with the trial raising questions about her intentions regarding toxic ingredients.
It is of course upsetting to learn that one of my recipes, possibly the one I've spent more hours perfecting than any other, is entangled in a tragic situation.
Erin Patterson told the court during the trial she had never made the dish before, and her changes were mostly due to her not being able to source a larger log of steak.
