SuperValu reduced the price of two litres of own-brand milk to €2.35, with pro-rata reductions across all own-brand milk. Tesco cut one-litre own fresh milk from €1.25 to €1.19 and two litres from €2.45 to €2.35. Aldi lowered one-litre whole milk to €1.19, two litres to €2.35 and three litres to €3.39, matching Lidl’s recent price cuts. These are the first milk price reductions in Ireland since 2023. Tesco’s reductions cover full-fat, low-fat, fortified, lactose-free, skim and protein milks. CSO data shows consumer prices rose 2.7% year-on-year, up from 2% previously, the highest since March 2024.
