Ten years after the referendum that led to Brexit, Britain and the European Union must close ranks amid growing global instability. Closer cooperation is needed on security, the economy, and defending democracies. Strengthening hard power becomes essential to deter aggression and to be ready to fight if necessary. Building a shared industrial base across Europe can turbocharge defence production and multiply collective strengths. A strong Europe operating within a strong NATO will reinforce the transatlantic bond. Building an independent European architecture of security will increase continental resilience and enable coordinated responses to geopolitical challenges.
