In a bid to tackle anti-social behaviour in a popular south-west French city, ten officers have been officially seconded to the newly formed Anti-Antisocial Behaviour Brigade. These officers, part of a broader initiative to strengthen municipal policing, focus on issues like fly-tipping, noise pollution, and illegal activities in public areas. The brigade not only aims to enforce rules through fines but also prioritises community awareness and engagement, reinforcing the importance of public space respect as emphasized by Mayor Pierre Hurmic.
Everyday incivility harms our quality of life and reinforces the feeling of insecurity. Your role will be to explain and raise awareness that everyone has a role to play in respecting public space.
Improving the quality of life of residents is a key mission that we have been working on since 2020.
