Historic building saved for community and may become Wars of the Roses museum
Briefly

Tudor Hall, chartered by Queen Elizabeth I in 1573, was put on the market by Barnet and Southgate College with a guide price of £1 million in December 2023. Local heritage groups, led by Barnet Museum, campaigned to register the hall as an asset of community value (ACV), which succeeded in May 2024. After this, the museum secured funding from The Hadley Trust, allowing them to bid for the hall. They aim to finalize the purchase by mid-April 2024 and plan future preservation and usage, possibly as a Wars of The Roses museum.
In December 2023, Tudor Hall in High Barnet was put up for sale, but community efforts led to its potential purchase by Barnet Museum with help from The Hadley Trust.
The museum aims to exchange contracts by mid-April for Tudor Hall and is preparing plans for its future preservation and usage, potentially as a Wars of The Roses centre.
