Google is testing a paperclip-style icon within main search result snippets and descriptions. Clicking the paperclip or the snippet opens the corresponding webpage. Paperclip icons appear intermittently for AI Overviews and AI Mode links and now appear in primary search results. Sachin Patel posted screenshots of the icon on X, and others, including Gagan Ghotra, confirmed seeing it on October 16, 2025. The icon resembles previously observed "see more" and related links. A forum discussion on X is active about the rollout and the icon's purpose.
