Lenovo's new Legion Go 2 could be the ergonomic handheld I've been waiting for
"What instantly caught my eye was the new Legion Go 2 handheld. This particular series is Lenovo's answer to the Nintendo Switch as a gaming handheld with detachable TrueStrike controllers. For this generation, Lenovo redesigned the controllers to be more ergonomic, now sporting a smoother design and a smarter layout. Also: Is Lenovo's new SteamOS handheld worth the hype? I tested it, here's my verdict"
"The Legion Go 2 will be a Windows-based gaming handheld, and although I was hoping for SteamOS, it does support FPS mode, another great feature. The right controller can turn into a vertical mouse, allowing for a more natural feel when playing certain types of games, like first-person shooters, hence the name. Around it are three user-programmable buttons, configurable via the Legion Space app. What's great about the controllers is that they are backwards-compatible, meaning they can connect to the original Legion Go."
Lenovo unveiled new Legion and LOQ gaming hardware at IFA 2025 in Berlin, spotlighting the Legion Go 2 handheld. The Legion Go 2 features redesigned, more ergonomic detachable TrueStrike controllers with a smoother layout and three user-programmable buttons configurable via the Legion Space app. The right controller can operate as a vertical mouse and controllers remain backwards-compatible with the original Legion Go. The handheld runs Windows, supports an FPS mode, and uses an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme CPU with up to 32GB of 8000MHz RAM. The 8.8-inch display drops to 1920×1200 resolution but gains an OLED panel certified for HDR TrueBlack 1000. Lenovo also previewed a tenth-generation Legion Pro 7 laptop and LOQ midrange desktop.
