The Ally X uses an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme chipset with larger battery, storage, and memory compared with the base model. Prior ROG Ally models launched at lower price points, and competing Z2 Extreme handhelds from MSI and Lenovo are also above $1,000. Pre-orders indicate strong demand for the higher-end model.
