Some of the biggest Nintendo Switch 2 features won't work out of the box and will require an update
Briefly

The recent Nintendo Direct revealed exciting features for the Switch 2, including the support for external storage using microSD and microSD Express cards. However, crucial functionalities won’t be available out of the box, as users will need to download a system update to utilize the microSD Express cards for game storage. Until this update is released, players will have to rely on the console's 256GB internal storage. Non-Express microSD cards can only be used for transferring screenshots and videos, limiting their utility for gaming purposes for Switch 2 users.
The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 will support microSD and microSD Express cards, but they won’t work until a system update is downloaded after launch.
Despite announcing several new features and hardware specs during the Nintendo Direct, some functionalities will not be available immediately upon the console's release.
