Yaqi X., a Chinese citizen working at Leipzig/Halle Airport, has been arrested on suspicion of sharing military transport information with Chinese intelligence agents.
Prosecutors revealed that from mid-August 2023 to mid-February 2024, X. frequently passed on sensitive details about airport operations to the suspected agent Jian G.
The espionage case connects to another suspect, Jian G., who was previously arrested for allegedly spying on Chinese opposition members within Germany.
The investigations reveal a broader network possibly involving German officials, as connections to far-right politician Maximilian Krah deepen the intrigue around the espionage allegations.
