Aston Villa’s win ended a 30-year dry spell for the English side. Freiburg will still play in Europe next season because it finished seventh in the Bundesliga. Separately, an American doctor infected with the Ebola virus was flown to Berlin for specialist treatment at Charite hospital. The Health Ministry later said the doctor’s immediate family, who were also in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, would be allowed to join him at the clinic.
