Tesla sales fall in Germany after Musk backs far right
Briefly

In February, Tesla's electric vehicle registrations in Germany fell by over 76%, with only 1,429 units sold, continuing a trend of declining sales influenced by Elon Musk's political involvement. This sharp decline follows a 60% dip in January sales. The far-right AfD party gained significant electoral support in Germany, aided by Musk's endorsement, sparking controversy. In contrast, the overall electric vehicle market saw an increase, with around 36,000 registrations in February, indicating that while Tesla struggles, the broader EV sector is recovering despite government subsidy reductions.
Just 1,429 of the US group's electric vehicles were registered in Europe's biggest auto market in February, down over 76 percent year-on-year, the KBA federal transport authority said.
The continued fall in sales of Teslas however contrasted with a recovery in the broader electric vehicles sector.
