India's participation in the Champions Trophy has raised questions of fairness, as they are playing all their matches in Dubai while other teams are in Pakistan. This situation arguably provides India with a significant edge, as they become accustomed to the conditions they are playing in, unlike teams that must adapt to the actual playing conditions in Pakistan. Critics argue that if India was unwilling to play in Pakistan, they should have withdrawn, setting a problematic precedent for future tournaments.
Every other team plays all their games in Pakistan (unless they had a match against India). Dubai is NOT Pakistan and the conditions whilst maybe similar are surely a huge advantage to the team that has played ALL their games there.
If India was not prepared to play in Pakistan then they really should have withdrawn from the competition. This precedent might well be replicated in the future but I doubt any other country will get the favourable treatment that India has been accorded.
