I love how this concept artist imagines atmospheric new worlds in her dreamy environment work
Briefly

Misa Steinmetz, a concept artist with a fine art background, crafts unique pieces inspired by diverse influences like Mesoamerican culture, Middle Eastern symbols, and retro sci-fi films. Her work includes a vibrant portrayal of a fantasy port city, a temple echoing the ouroboros symbol of eternal life, and an imaginative food-processing plant destined for space travel. Steinmetz’s approach combines meticulous research with a desire to enhance graphic stylization, reflecting her aim to create engaging and textured artworks that invite exploration and inspire others.
I focused on the port life of a fantasy Mesoamerican city for this painting. I researched historical books to design the city for a group project at New3dge.
For this project I painted a temple inspired by the ouroboros, symbolising eternal life, and Middle Eastern baths. My goal was to push the stylisation in the painting as well.
I love retro sci-fi films and wanted to design a food-packaging plant for space travel inspired by them.
