The pavilion at the Biennale, titled 'Terram Intelligere: INTERSTITIUM,' represents Montenegro's architectural identity while engaging with broader global themes. Curated by Prof. Dr. Miljana Zeković, it serves as a laboratory that transforms traditional concepts through biological metaphors. Aspects such as floating polycarbonate forms infused with bacteria highlight the active relationship between architecture and natural systems. The pavilion showcases how architecture can facilitate connections between disciplines and future possibilities while echoing the event's overarching theme of Natural, Artificial, and Collective intelligence.
Architecture naturally occupies a space between disciplines - not only between art and science, but also engineering. Here, it becomes a form of mediation between species, materials, and temporalities.
The pavilion draws on the concept of a newly understood anatomical system of fluid-filled spaces running throughout the human body, facilitating connection and exchange.
