Since the launch of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals in 2015, substantial investments have been made in sustainability, yet inequality and ecological harm persist. Most wealth generated has been captured by the elite, while a significant portion of the population lives in poverty. The existing economic model, which over-extracts resources, is unsuitable for the challenges of the 21st century. The article advocates for a new system—Sustainomya—that reconciles economic growth with environmental sustainability and equitable wealth distribution, focusing on integrating prosperity, people, and the planet in harmony.
Sustainomya represents a new economic paradigm aiming to harmonize wealth creation with sustainable development, urging a shift in our approach to economic growth and resource use.
The current economic system generates significant wealth but fails to distribute it fairly, creating widening inequality and environmental degradation, thus necessitating radical change.
