As a breast cancer survivor, I continuously feel 'too aware' of my condition, from diagnosis to treatment to survivorship, making it rare a day passes without thoughts of cancer.
It's vital for survivors to share our stories to help others comprehend their cancer risks, advocate preventive care, and support newly diagnosed patients who are understandably frightened.
Many people are surprised that I was diagnosed with breast cancer without a family history or genetic mutations; most diagnosed actually have no such connections.
Breast cancer symptoms can vary greatly, not always presenting as a lump; it may appear as a rash or varied shape of the breast, and importantly, men can also develop it.
