Fox News Anchor John Roberts Battles Malaria, Health Updates
"In a post to X on Sunday morning, Fox News anchor John Roberts announced that he is set to be released from the hospital. God willing, after 5 days and 6 nights at Inova Fairfax, I hope to be heading back home to my family today, Roberts wrote. Roberts painted an extremely bleak picture of his condition earlier in the week as he battled the rare disease that approximately 2,000 Americans each year come down with, according to the CDC."
"Malaria is an awful disease that needs to be attacked full-force when a diagnosis is made, Roberts wrote. I've gone from being so sick that any dog would take pity on me to being ready to fire up the grill on Labor Day (well, maybe ready to watch the grill bring fired up). Malaria is transmitted via a bite from a female Anopheles mosquito. And Roberts in his health update Sunday shared a photo of one, along with a warning."
John Roberts is set to be released from Inova Fairfax after five days and six nights of hospital care. He contracted a severe case of malaria and experienced an extremely bleak illness before improving. Malaria affects about 2,000 Americans annually, per the CDC, and requires aggressive treatment once diagnosed. Roberts called malaria an awful disease that needs to be attacked full-force and described his recovery from near-debilitation to feeling well enough for Labor Day activities. He shared a photo of a female Anopheles mosquito and warned people to stay away from such insects.
