Harvard settles antisemitism lawsuits
Briefly

Harvard University has agreed to broaden its definition of antisemitism in its nondiscrimination policies and will hire an administrator to address complaints of antisemitism. This decision comes after lawsuits from the Brandeis Center and Students Against Antisemitism, which claimed that Harvard was neglecting antisemitic harassment. The settlement mandates that Harvard issue annual reports on antisemitism complaints for the next five years and collaborate with a university in Israel. Although Harvard did not admit wrongdoing, they reaffirmed their commitment to creating a supportive environment for Jewish students and staff.
Today’s settlement reflects Harvard’s enduring commitment to ensuring our Jewish students, faculty, and staff are embraced, respected, and supported.”
When fully and faithfully implemented, this agreement will help ensure that Jewish students are able to learn and thrive in an environment free from anti-Semitic hate, discrimination, and harassment.
