At Mohawk College in Hamilton, around 20 workers and MPP candidates protested against recent job and program cuts, which have totaled one-fifth of all full-time positions since December. "This did not happen overnight," Giardine-Tuck said. Public funding for post-secondary schools has been declining since 2006 on a per-student basis, creating unsustainable pressures.
