Josef Mengele
Briefly

Josef Mengele, a Nazi doctor infamous for his horrific experiments at Auschwitz, earned the moniker 'Angel of Death'. From 1943 to 1945, he subjected thousands of inmates to brutal and unnecessary procedures. His obsession with genetics and the Nazi ideology of a master race led to numerous killings and unethically conducted research, of which little scientific value was achieved. After the war, Mengele evaded capture, fleeing to South America, where he lived until his death in 1979, identified posthumously in 1985.
"that very little, if any benefit to science was achieved" (Shirer, 979).
Mengele literally had the power of life and death over the inmates of the Auschwitz complex, specifically at the Birkenau camp.
Mengele's remains were exhumed and identified in 1985; he had died of natural causes in 1979.
Josef Mengele was obsessed with genetics and creating a master race.
