Spice lovers rejoice, as it's sounding like Denis Villeneuve will be starting production on Dune: Messiah a lot sooner than anyone expected
Briefly

Dune: Messiah is expected to begin filming in June 2023, earlier than Denis Villeneuve's original timeline of 2026. The decision follows the impressive box office performance of Dune: Part 2, which grossed over $714 million globally. Villeneuve expressed his motivation to proceed with the third film, inspired by the positive reception of Part 2. He also clarified that while he is writing the script, he doesn’t view his films as a trilogy but rather as distinct adaptations with their own identity.
Villeneuve has been working on the script for the third film since at least last September, where at the time he noted that he doesn't consider his Dune films to be a part of a trilogy.
The director explained that he was moving forward with Messiah as his next project because he was really moved by the way Part Two was received by cinephiles around the world.
