Cloudflare said shortly after 9am UK time that it was investigating issues with Cloudflare Dashboard and related APIs, referring to application programming interfaces. The internet infrastructure provider said users had seen a large number of empty pages as a result. It added shortly after that it had implemented a potential fix and was monitoring the results."
"A number of websites and platforms were down, including the Downdetector site used to monitor online service issues. Users reported problems with other websites including Zoom, LinkedIn, Shopify and Canva, although many are back online. The Downdetector website recorded more than 4,500 reports related to Cloudflare after returning online. The Indian-based stockbroker Groww said it was facing technical issues due to a global outage at Cloudflare. Its services have since been restored."
Cloudflare experienced technical problems with its Dashboard and related APIs on Friday morning, causing many websites to display empty pages or go offline. Affected services included LinkedIn, Zoom, Shopify, Canva and the Downdetector monitoring site, which logged more than 4,500 reports after returning online. Cloudflare implemented a potential fix shortly after the incident and monitored the results while some services, including Indian stockbroker Groww, restored functionality. Cloudflare provides network and security services used by roughly 20% of websites, and this outage followed similar problems three weeks earlier that impacted platforms such as X, ChatGPT, Spotify, and multiplayer games.
